A New Year means time to update the Check out Class Blogs list which has been growing since November, 2008.
About the Class Blog list
It now contains over 200 class blogs, sorted into different categories based on age, subject area and type of blog.
The list was set up so educators can check out different types of class blogs to get ideas for their own class blog while also making connections with classes in other countries.
I’ve worked through ALL the blog URLs in the comments on Calling All CLASS blogs…Please Share Your Blog URL With Us! to:
- Remove blogs that have been deleted or are no longer active (haven’t updated since Jan, 2009)
- Insert links to the new Class blog for educators who create a new blog for each school year
- Add any blogs missing from the list
The list contains amazing examples of Class blogs from around the World!
How To Add Your Class Blog To The List
As Calling All CLASS blogs…Please Share Your Blog URL With Us! post is now over 12 months old, and contains over 250 comments, I’m closing off comments on that post.
Off course I’m still happy to grow our Check out Class Blogs list — I just need to restart the list to make it manageable again 😎
If you want to add your class blog to this list (or update your class blog details) leave a comment on this post to share with us:
- Your Class Blog name(s) and URL(s).
- Approximate age of students and are they primary, secondary or tertiary?
- If applicable, what subject area? e.g. maths, science, language, history, English, Art, Music, ELL, ESL, & EFL
- Country
Here’s an example of the type of information needed:
Please check the Check out Class Blogs list first before providing updated information.

Hello there, this is a great resource. I wish to submit my wife’s blog to your list.
The purpose of the blog is to share with the parents and population at large the activities of a kindergarten class. I don’t know about other countries, but in Portugal kindergarten teachers are not viewed by the population as “real” teachers, they are completely unaware of the pedagogical foundations and learning goals of every activity that takes place in the class. She hopes to contribute to a better understanding of the key role of the kindergarten in literacy and future learning success.

Hi there,
Our school blog is set up for students to use as they wish; post on books (graded readers) they’ve read, submit homework assignments & send us ‘postcards’. All ages contribute, as do staff with school news or classroom highlights.

Hi Sue
Our class blog is still a work in progress and will be used as a communication tool for a Reception Class, Willunga Primary School in South Australia
I tried a web site last year and had so much positive feedback from parents that I had to have one this year. So with lots of help from my schools ICT coordinator, (thankyou Ali) I have moved to Edublogs. I must admit I am very excited about all the things it can do!

Hello,
I created a blog for my Grade 2 class last year (which we will continue to use and refer to) and I am in the process of starting a new one for my grade this year. I primarily use it as a school to home communication tool. The kids love sharing their work with family and friends.

We are a 6th grade team of about 125 students near Raleigh North Carolina. I’m still getting all the kids online, but I teach Language Arts so they all will be required to do some writing about their reading. They’ll also have pages about things that interest them. I’d love to have students from all over comment to us; if you are interested in having some kind of e-pal relationship this year, I’m listening! (My students are mostly 12 years old, from middle (and upper middle) class backgrounds, many Asian/Indian students).

Hi Sue,
Happy New Year to everybody!
I started blogging in 2007 and I really believe in using the ICT in the ESL/EFL classrooms. In this blog my 16 years old ESO,compulsory secondary education, students and the 18 years old baccalaureate ones can find lots of links to practice listening, reading and writing in English. They can do lots of grammar exercises and it’s also the ” Home” of their courses’ blogs where they post their writings.
The aim of the blog is to improve their knowledge of the English language and their digital competence while using the Internet
The name of the blog is : “Enjoy learning English” and you can find it here:

From Barcelona, Spain
Hugs to everybody and my best wishes
