Calling All CLASS blogs…Please Share Your Blog URL With Us!

Image of a light bulbWhen setting up a new blog it’s always handy check out other people’s blogs for ideas.

So I’ve been thinking it would be really helpful to everyone, especially new educators, if we had a page on The Edublogger for links to class blogs called Check out Class Blogs. The list could also be helpful for people wanting to create connections with classrooms in other countries.

So I was wondering if you could help me? Do you have a class blog or are able to recommend some class blogs?

Can you please share with us:

  1. Blog name(s) and URL(s).
  2. Approximate age of students and are they primary, secondary or tertiary?
  3. If applicable, what subject area? e.g. maths, science, language, history, English, Art, Music, ELL, ESL, & EFL
  4. Country

Thanks to Sue Tapp for reminding me that this task was on my to-do list!

  1. My blog is a supplement to my 9th grade World History classes (Massachusetts, USA). I use it to connect the history events to things that our happening in our world today. It also is a great place to address questions students have in class, that are really not part of the curriculum. It also gets the students to practice having opinions….one of the main goals for our 9th graders is to master the thesis statement, so I see blog commenting as a way to get them more comfortable with “taking a stand” on an issue. Finally, students can read each other’s comments and honors level students can model appropriate writing for the lower level students.

  4. Hi everyone – thanks for leaving the information on your class blogs. I’ve now updated the list.

Can you please check the Class blog page to make sure I’ve added your link, it’s in the correct location and the information is correct.

Also I couldn’t add a few as some of the URLs aren’t correct.

This is a blog for my third grade class in Hudsonville, Michigan. We use our classroom blog for classroom projects and parental communication. It is an excellent way to keep everyone informed of our current events, share pictures and podcasts. We would love to hear from you!

I am new to blogging so would appreciate any creative ideas that you are willing to share.

  6. Hi,

My blog is called Teachers Space and it has hundreds of links for Early Years teachers and those who work with children with special needs, especailly ASD.
It is linked to several other blogs which I maintain including one for maths links, a virtual gallery of art work and a Student blog for group blogging as an alternative to giving students their own blog site. A click on the picture that says ‘Back to Room 13’ will lead you to the other sites.
