Calling All CLASS blogs…Please Share Your Blog URL With Us!

Image of a light bulbWhen setting up a new blog it’s always handy check out other people’s blogs for ideas.

So I’ve been thinking it would be really helpful to everyone, especially new educators, if we had a page on The Edublogger for links to class blogs called Check out Class Blogs. The list could also be helpful for people wanting to create connections with classrooms in other countries.

So I was wondering if you could help me? Do you have a class blog or are able to recommend some class blogs?

Can you please share with us:

  1. Blog name(s) and URL(s).
  2. Approximate age of students and are they primary, secondary or tertiary?
  3. If applicable, what subject area? e.g. maths, science, language, history, English, Art, Music, ELL, ESL, & EFL
  4. Country

Thanks to Sue Tapp for reminding me that this task was on my to-do list!

  1. Hi Sue,
our class blog has started in September for the Subc08 and we are at http://inpi.edublogs.org
This year I have 86 6th grade students, 11 years old and our blog is mainly about Portuguese and writing.
Along the student blogging competition I was surprised to see how the fact of having to use the automate translator was not enough for the majority of my kids to communicate at ease. So, unhappily, I’m not sure if we will be able to engage in common projects with other class blogs.

  2. Hi Sue, and all ,

Huzzah! is our classroom blog, but the real action is in the blogs of 27 grade (10-11-12 year old) students at

    http://huzzah.edublogs.org

Many students are writing about their own passions, from sports, to music to gaming, as well as “assigned” topics.

Sure is thrilling for all of us to receive comments and watch those dots pop up on the ClustrMap!

  6. Our School Blog was created by Year 6 children (age 10/11) http://strettonhandley.edublogs.org/ . Now in its 2nd year, a new bunch of kids are responsible for maintaining it.

They blog about what’s going on at school and their hobbies as well as recording their weekly spelling list. They always love it when people leave comments on their posts.
