Global Teacher and Global Student were set up by Connect and the School Library Association of Victoria. Connect is part of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) in Victoria, Australia.
The purpose of Global Teacher and Global Student is to provide a supported online environment for public school teachers in Victoria (Australia) to explore blogging and then introduce it to their students:
- Global Teacher – for teachers only. Students can write comments on these blogs but aren’t able to write posts. Refer to these guidelines
- Global Student – for teachers and students. Used for class blogs where you want students to write posts and for setting up student blogs. Refer to these guidelines
These are both are Edublogs Campus sites. Blogs hosted on Campus have more features than free Edublogs blogs.
NOTE:
- Plugins add extra functionality and features to blogs
- Blog & User creator allows you to easily create blogs in batches of 15
- Add user provides the ability to add student usernames in batches of 15 to class blogs
The Edublogs Campus is used by Universities, school districts, schools and individual teachers because it provides greater control and access to all staff and student blogs in their organisations compared to using a standard blogging solution.
