‘Tis the season for personalized professional development – on your own terms

It is fair to say that in most school environments, teachers aren’t given much choice in the topics of professional development they attend.

Most likely, the content goes along with school-wide goals, new programs being implemented, or the like.

But, thanks to the power of technology and the global community of forward-thinking educators, there are many additional opportunities out there for personal learning.

Upcoming Online Conferences

These conferences are free, and recordings of the sessions are available afterwards in case your schedule doesn’t allow you to attend live.

Ongoing PD

There are also several ongoing and scheduled sessions you should keep on your schedule throughout the year.

The most complete list around, which includes our weekly Edublogs webinars, can be found here on the Classroom 2.0 site.

In addition, twitter chats, opportunities like our Teacher Challenges, podcasts, and edCamps are making it easy for educators to share and learn from each other like never before.

Are we missing any online webinars or professional development opportunities in the lists above?

  1. As you know Ronnie, I am currently touring the USA and Canada. Last night while on Twitter, I was told by Will Chamberlain about an edcamp being held in Kansas City this Saturday. As I was going to KC, I decided to join in the edcamp. Will probably write a post about it, as I have never been to one before.
